Steelhead Season is a wrap.  I'd like to thank all my clients who fished with me this season and looking forward for fishing with you next season on the Salmon River. I'll be guiding on the West Canada Creek as well as the West Branch of the Ausable til mid summer.  Also if you're looking to get into the "Trout Spey" game give me a call and we can talk about a trip.

Ausable Report

By |June 1st, 2018|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , , , |

The West Branch of the Ausable has been fishing pretty good  recently.  Water flows are dropping to summer time lows, water temps are mid 50's-60 still.  Tight line nymphing has been the most productive technique by far, getting down and dirty with nymphs has produced some incredible client days along with some quality fish. Best patterns nymphing have been: Frenchie, Pat's Rubber Leg Stone, Sexy Walts worm and a Rainbow Warrior in sizes 8 to 16.   Looking to book a trip, contact us here.

Bugs, Bugs and more Bugs

By |May 30th, 2017|Categories: Uncategorized|Tags: , , , , , |

Good hatches of bugs have been coming off just about every stream I have fished this year providing good dry fly action. Early in the morning when there has been no hatches we have been nymphing with good success.  I will be up on the West Branch of the Ausable in Wilmington for the month of June if your looking to get out on the water give me a call (518) 495-2965 or email me at paul@paulsguideservice.com
