The Salmon have finally arrived in decent number’s on the Eastern End of Lake Ontario. I was out Saturday trolling on the lake for Browns and we landed a 28lb King and a 16lb Coho mixed in with the Browns. Since then they have made their apperance from Oswego to North of Sandy Pond.

Phil with a 28lb King.

Saturday we saw the first good push of fish up the river. The DSR saw steady action all day, friends who were down there said it was nice size run of fish for September 5th. Those same fish were up thru the Ball park area on Sunday morning. Fishing on the lake is good with most of the fish in 100′ range along Mexico Bay.

Fishing in the river remains slow with just a couple of fish entering the river each day. Look for possibly a few more coming in with the water release this weekend. Fishing on the lake has been good one day slow the next, winds over the weekend made it unfishable for most guys. Saturday afternoon we went out for two hours when the lake laid down some and went 1/1. Then we beat feet back in before the waves picked up again. We were fishing in 60′ - 70′ of water and marking a decent number of fish, most had their heads in the mud though. With the winds switching around I would think the fish will move back out over alittle deeper water this week.
